October 2004 Newsletter
Hello to All,
I hope that you all had a good summer with a lot of good riding with good friends or family
I don't know if you heard about our GRAND TOUR ride. It was a great time. A few Departments opened their doors for us and they were very kind to us. Many thanks to all of them.
The only problem we had was when we were approaching France Ave on 494. We were staggered in two rows, and I was third. As we approached France Ave in the right hand lane, a woman in an SUV decided she wanted to take the exit. It didn't seem to matter that there were motorcycles between the exit and her. I hit the brakes in time, but Pat S. didn't see her until she was almost on top of her. He hit the brakes and his horn as he pulled up along side of her. She went back into her lane, missed the exit and from what I heard, was very upset. I guess she would have felt better if she took a couple out. Watch out for these nuts, they're dangerous and didn't care.
RK business: I am trying to setup an end of year Red Knight meeting. Our club has a pretty laid back approach as far as what members do and when they show up. But this is a meeting where everyone should try to make it and make a recommendation for the direction the club is going.
Some of the topics are:
The date I have selected is November 13 at 11:00am. If this is a problem, I could make it the following weekend, but I don't want to make it Thanksgiving weekend or after. I'm trying to avoid holiday conflicts.
I am also looking for a meeting place. Eagan is centralized and we could have it in Eagan, but I would like to give someone else the chance to host it. So if you're interested in hosting or there is a problem with Nov 13, let me know ASAP.
Attached are the minutes of the previous meeting. Please review them.
Gene G. will also have his shirts and patches that are for sale at the next meeting. Supplies are running low and nothing will be reordered until next year.
For all the new members, If you have anything you would like to share, send me an email and I will put it in the next news letter.
See you at the meeting,
Peter Renneberg
